New (& some old) Loves

SO much has happened since my last post! First, we found that 'Baby G' is a sweet girl! She will be Sadie Caroline Gorin and we can't wait to meet her! Here's what she looks like now:

Also, sweet little Bella started to crawl! She and Whit came for a visit for a few days, she's such a big girl! Poor dad just can't get a boy in the family to save his life. Girls, girls, and more girls!!

Matt and I are full-swing into our new jobs! Matt traveled a good bit while he was training (Oklahoma, Ohio, GA, Florida and probably every inch of every highway in Tennessee). Now that he's finished training, he'll be gone less, but maybe gone a few days a week every other week. It's not TOO bad & I'm getting used to him being gone some and its definitely an improvement over the 1st month of his job! I have been L-O-V-I-N-G my job! More to come on that later, but it has been awesome so far. I love what I do and I love the people and couldn't be more blessed!! And, Matt and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary on January 17th! So many changes, challenges and blessings we've had in the past 2 years, but I wouldn't trade any of it! I love him so much and can't wait to see where the Lord takes us in the coming years!! Here's the last pic we got at the Greenville house...

So, I love my lists. For this posts, some things I've learned to love in Nashville:

SWANKY'S! This one is right by my parent's house- it's the best Tex-Mex kind of Mexican. Add a little spicy ranch and roasted corn to your burrito and it's delish. They also have really good cheese dip which is a must for any Mexican restaurant I am addicted too.

IPAD. I'm not the "tech geek" kind... but I got this from my AWESOME employer as a Christmas gift. (did I mention I love my job??) So, I have found all kinds of interesting apps to mess aroung with! One of my favorites I think will be the Betty Crocker cookbook (haven't used it yet, but I plan to! Did I mention it was free??) And, a really addicting Jewel game.. it's already the bane of Matt's existance because once I start playing I have to finish and beat my last high score. HA. I'm sure I have a lot to learn, but I love it so far. The Pandora App is also very handy for some good music when getting ready for the day!

DEALS. Maybe it's hanging with the Dave Ramsey crowd, but I have been getting some great deals recently.... today we picked up a FREE entertainment center from a guy I work with who can't use it anymore. And, we bought a nice fridge from a family who is moving... $500 for a fridge they paid $1699 for. Can't get any better than that! And, the best deal of all, is our new HOUSE!!! We still have to do the appraisal and home inspection, but the possibility is that we are getting a great deal on an awesome house in a neighborhood we love. It's about 10-15 minutes from my parents and about 10 minutes to work. LOVE it. More to come if everything goes smoothly!

DEVO. Something awesome that is a perk of working for Dave, is that every Wednesday morning, we have a company wide devotion where different speakers will come and talk to us. My dad actually spoke a few weeks ago (the 1st Wednesday in January) on goals and setting them. It was really great! This past Wednesday Dr. Emerson Eggrichs spoke to us. He's the author of the Love and Respect Book. He was talking about conflict in marriage and how men and women communicate. He's a really funny guy and we were all laughing SO SO hard because everything he said was so true. I think we have all had the EXACT conversations with our spouses that he was talking about! Anyways, I haven't read his book yet, but I plan to do it soon because his talk was REALLY insightful. I can already tell it's going to be an interesting read and I can't wait! Here's the book:

SELF DISCOVERY: Our Team as work read StrengthsFinder 2.0. It's a book about focusing on your strengths in life... and with the book, you get an access code to take a personality test. I've taken similar things that are supposed to tell me what my strengths are, but it always seems to be vague or inconclusive! This one is SO in depth. It gives you an 18-page print-out on what your 5 top strengths are, and then give you information on each one telling you how that trait is manifested in you specifically. I've learned a lot about myself by reading what they said my strengths are. Some of the things they pointed out, I didn't even realize I did. Or, I realize I did it but didn't understand where that personality trait came from. It is really interesting. We have meetings on Friday afternoon and everybody reads 1 of their strengths aloud. I'm going to buy the book for Matt so I can see what it says about him... understanding the reasons behind why people do things is so interesting to me!! And, it's also interesting because you can have the same strength as someone else, but the information they give on why you do things and how the trait is manifested in your personality will be completely different and unique to you. If you're trying to find what kind of path to take in life/job this wold really be helpful. As well as, I think in understanding yourself and your family members! It is awesome. :)
